Very dark, opaque core with reddish purple rim; leather, dark cherry, very tart, good fruit, a hint of the Refosco greenness comes in on the back; sour fruit, black olive, leather, wild berry, medium body, freshness, some seaweed; decent but needs some food to counter some of the sour and tart fruit.
Black core with reddish purple rim; kind of funky nose, oxidative, flowers, red cherry, sour plum, spice; fruit is darker on the palate, blackberry, some red cherry, sandalwood, higher alcohol, fuller body, lower acid, tart blackberry, some tannin, dill, sandy, cedar; ok but I'd expect more from this vineyard in a good vintage.
Semi-translucent purple core with bright rim; very new, exuberant nose of lilac, raspberry, garrigue, crushed fresh berry, raw meat, hint of plastic; bright and fresh on the palate, medicinal, high acid, sappy, no oak, very cool climate; good.
See through crimson with orange red rim; soy, caraway, sour red cherry, orange, dusty; copper, rusty, older, a little past peak for me, acidity is out of whack a bit then the hard tannins come in, cedar, sour cherry, orange finish; drink now; called '07 Il Poggione Rosso but that had less tannin.
Dark core with reddish purple rim; plum, hint of VA, some Brett cutting off the fruit as well, allspice; horsey, dark fruit, leather, sweet candied plum, a brief moment of goodness, dark cherry, red apple skin; another bottle not showing well.
