Half bottle. From a small strip of Jurassic soil, unique in Germany. Unfiltered. Deep colour, full yellow with a golden hue; the nose is indeed reminiscent of Jura (think: Ganevat), smoke and minerals, deep, honey and herbs, floral, not fruit-driven at all; powerful palate, apple and citrus, like wild(er) Chablis, juicy, fresh but ripe; very good length. Great with cheese.
Young vines. Nose needs a bit of time to open up, flowers and cherries, fresh and mineral, hints of pepper and red meats; the palate is on the lighter and tighter side, mineral and energetic but could do with a little more stuffing of ripe fruit, redcurrants, clean and precise, hint of cream; light finish bit good length. Will get even better as the vines age.
Very pale colour; the freshest wild strawberries, delicately sweet, off-dry almost, lovely bitters, floral and herbal topnotes; dried strawberry finish, good length.
Raw and ancient at the same time; the oak is present but it has not managed to tame the primordial energy of the spirit, the essence of the energy of the vine is captured here in an unashamedly unelegant way, acidic and extremely powerful, long and pure, incredibly youthful and fresh.
