Tasted with Paul Draper at UC Davis reception. Paul and I seemed to enjoy this much more than many others, who pronounced it merely "old." It is certainly past its peak and the tannins have mostly faded, but it is still showing quite nicely, with fruit and bramble.
At Paul Draper's talk at UC Davis at which he, in passing, mentioned von Neumann so… pretty much a perfect talk.

Fruit: plum, strawberry jam; ripe (but not overly ripe) fruit Pepper, roasted herbs Tobacco, dried cigar
Very fine tannin; medium acid; rich, silky body Slightly drying finish.
Overall, I was far from blown away. Clearly, the wine is very young, but is primarily about very rich fruit and some drying oak tannin right now. I have faith that this will be wonderful in 20 years on history alone, but right now it is merely nice.
