This was really unexpectedly magnificent. VERY stinky when first opened, but a few hours air (not in a decanter) cleaned it up perfectly. Rich, complex, almost creamy fruit. Amazingly young.
Very young colour and perfect cork, amazing condition. Nose a little volatile and a touch dried up, but plenty of body and substance, still tannic. Nothing like as complex as the Prunotto but still characteristic.
Really wonderful. Proper weight, tar, mushrooms, still some fruit. Just more of everything than the Produttori. Tied with the Malconsorts for my favourite wine of the night.
Mushroomy, slightly generic 'old wine' sort of nose, but still vinous, soft, elegant, forest floor sort of palate. Definitely well past its prime but still very pleasant to drink.
Italy, Tuscany, Montalcino, Brunello di Montalcino
Mushroomy, volatile nose and too much vinegar on the palate to really enjoy. There was still some wine there but this was the only one of the wines of the night that was too far gone, and also got worse with air.

Really unique wine, amazing herbal, garrigue, notes. Almost medicinal, but in a positive way.

2008 Laherte Frères Champagne Extra Brut Les Vignes d'Autrefois

Slightly more conventional and all better integrated than a year ago. Lovely, rich, vinous, champagne with lots of development left.
