Consumed over 3 hours with dinner. Started at cellar temperature, gradually came to room temp. Opulent and ripe orchard fruit flavors and aromas, plenty of sweet spice and roasted nuts. Very fat and alluring to start, seemed to get a little shorter when open 2+ hours.

Opened, decanted and served, then consumed with dinner over 3 hours. Started slightly reductive, while very lean and tart with lots of citrus. Fattened up nicely in a few hours, showing lemon, lemon peel and some tropical fruit hints at the end, while still remaining very lithe and energetic. Faint notes of spice and toasted walnuts. Kept getting better all evening; in fact the final glass the next night might have been the best glass.

Open an hour before tasting, then consumed over 2+ hours. Lots of spice and perfume to start with mature black cherry and berry aromas. Similar flavors to start, this wine kept changing with more time in glass. After one hour in glass, the fruit was less forward, making the wine less interesting overall. But the fruit returned an hour later, and everything was back in harmony.
Slightly more advanced than I normally find with Leroy 1998s. Was told this was consistent with another bottle from the same case, making me think there might have been some minor heat damage at some point, but this was still a charming drink.

Pristine bottle, ullage 0.5cm. Open approx one hour before serving, then consumed over 2 hours with dinner. Color is very age appropriate for a wine almost 30yo, while the aromatic start came across as younger. Moderate black fruit with moderate spice and trace sauvage hints. Same on nose and palate with slightly firm structure throughout. I'd have liked a little more concentration. Wine barely changed at all over the 2+ hours in glass, in marked contrast to the Leroy 1998 Corton Renardes, which seemed like a different wine each time revisited.
Last glass was kept for the next night. Structure was softer, but aromas and flavors also less interesting. Almost as good as the 1st night, which makes me confident this will continue to cellar and age gracefully.
2000 Domaine des Comtes Lafon Meursault 1er Cru Charmes 92 Points

2011 Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey Meursault 1er Cru Gouttes d'Or 92 Points
