Dark dull garnet with brighter rim; cedar, cinnamon, dried red fruit, good acid, hint of vegetal, ripeness in check; some tannin, red fruit, blueberry, polished, strong fruit in the middle; delicious; called it.
Dark core, almost semi-translucent, bright reddish garnet rim; tar and blackberry dominate the nose with candied plum, exotic spice, red fruit tucked beneath these other items, interesting; sweet palate showing lots of ripeness, prune, plum, spice, some alcohol, soft tannin, glycerin, decent acid, good.
Black opaque core with thin dark purple rim; black olive, new French oak, violets, black pepper, tar; bigger wine, leather, menthol, dark berry, some astringency from the tannin, plush in the middle, very Northern Rhone-ish, powerful, served a little chilled which I think helped along with a 1-2 hour decant; could go many more years; really good stuff and WOTN.

Poured at the end of the evening; seemed fatter than previous bottles with cassis, plum, blackberry, more ripe with soft tannin and low acid, darker fruit more like the Rutherford; not my favorite bottle of this I've had.
2007 McKenzie-Mueller Cabernet Franc

46% Cabernet Sauvignon, 42% Merlot, 8% Malbec, 6% Cabernet Franc. Dark core, cloudy to dull garnet rim; leather, sweat, red currant, dill, American oak?; red currant, plum, mint, licorice, some grainy tannin, alcohol, glycerin, smoother aged texture; good now.

2010 Round Pond Estate Cabernet Sauvignon Rutherford
