Introduction

When Fernando takes control of the situation, you always win.

Flight 1 (5 Notes)

  • NV Rey Fernando de Castilla Jerez-Xérès-Sherry Fino En Rama

    Spain, Andalucía, Jerez-Xérès-Sherry

Here we go again. That boutique of design, that cold Nordic perfection, this time reloaded even cause the 'en Rama' effect.
I love what I have in front of me sharing traditional Spanish salted fish dishes but however I can't find its soul, something essential when you're drinking fortified wines. My entire fault. Sorry

  • NV Bodegas Tradición Jerez-Xérès-Sherry Amontillado Muy Viejo 30 Years Old

    Spain, Andalucía, Jerez-Xérès-Sherry

    Served by the glass.
If compared it with fino Fernando de Castilla 'en Rama' this VORS has a real personality far away from what a cold style FdC is representing.
Have I insist I am not an Amontillado fan? Anyway this is a superior class sherry.

  • 1993 Louis Jadot Beaune 1er Cru Chouacheux Domaine des Héritiers Louis Jadot

France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Beaune 1er Cru

As in many occasions before, from a so-so vintage, a negociant bottle of a mediocre terroir...then a perfectly aged bottle, very close to what a top Beaune can offer.
    Vivid cherry colour.
Meaty, earthy nose, full of aromas of violets, roses and leather.
Suave, delicious on the palate, definitively digestible and quite long for what it is. Elegant and harmonious even.
Very low level of sediments. Beaune at its best without any trace if oxidation.

    Portugal, Douro, Porto

A secure value for a 40 yo Port. This is the second time for me.
Perfectly balanced just looking for more creaminess and less alcohol.
Despite if this, a pure enjoyment for port lovers.

This bottle, at first, was a good refection of this poor vintage, timid, restrained and quite opaque on the nose.
Then decanted and waiting a hour or so, this bottle bloomed offering what a well-aged Pessac-Leognan deserves for the patient.
    Dull brownish colour.
Delicate on the nose showing dried flowers, meat and humid earth.
Palate, until the last drop, was elegant and a nice representation of its origin. The last glass, the best.
Absolutely digestible. For some lucky connoisseurs.

Absolutamente digestible. Para algunos afortunados con la suficiente paciencia.
