  • NV Jacquesson & Fils Champagne Cuvée No. 737 Extra-Brut 93 Points

    France, Champagne

A blend of 43% Chardonnay, 27% Pinot Noir and 30% Pinot Meunier from Grand and Premier Cru vineyards in the Vallée de la Marne and the Côte des Blancs, 2009 base vintage, 30% reserve wines. Disgorged July 2013 with a dosage of 3.5 gr/l. Impressive weight and energy, slightly oxidative and vinous style, deep, brooding almost, masculine and powerful, subtle bitters from the wood, tightly wound, citrus and oyster shell, Pinot Noir backbone, hints of Meunier spice, candied fruit, seamless, good length. A gastronomic Champagne, styled in keeping with the character of its 2009 base vintage.

  • 2010 Guimaro Ribeira Sacra Finca Meixeman 90 Points

    Spain, Galicia, Ribeira Sacra

From a 1.2 ha vineyard planted with 70 year old Mencía vines on Schist soils, 350 cases produced. Sweet and fleshy black cherries, modern and glossy feel in spite of traditional winemaking, big (14.5% ABV) but fresh and mineral, soft tannin, juicy and flavoursome, spices, good length.
