• 2010 Ca' Marcanda (Gaja) Bolgheri Camarcanda

  Italy, Tuscany, Bolgheri

  Meaty yet elegant Merlot blended.
  Lot of ashes on the nose.
  Strawberries compote plus elusive notes of roses in chocolate sauce. Very well done.
  On the palate I founded too much hot, it hides everything. Shortie and acid to the bone at this point.

  Mucha ceniza en nariz
  Compota de fresas con elusivas notas de rosas en chocolate. Muy conseguida.
  En boca demasiado cálido, lo tapa todo. Muy corto y ácido hasta la médula en este momento.

• 2012 Ca' Marcanda (Gaja) Magari

  Italy, Tuscany, Bolgheri

  Beautiful mineral nose of anthracite and limestone. Maybe also ironish.
  Harsh and oaky on the palate. Time will tell.
  
  Rica nariz mineral con antracita y caliza. Quizás también ferrosa.
  Áspera y amaderada en boca. El tiempo dirá.

• 2009 Pieve Santa Restituta (Gaja) Brunello di Montalcino

  Italy, Tuscany, Montalcino, Brunello di Montalcino

  On the nose aromas of veal and thyme plant. Also some notes of caramel and flowers. Everything covered with that charm that Gaja wants to consider as his own seal of quality.
  Mouth didn't exactly follow that fantastic nose, but at the DNS showed silky but at the same time little alcoholic and unbalanced acidity. Asking for food.
  
  Caza y sotobosque en nariz. Lejanas notas a caramelo y flores. Todo envuelto con ese encanto que Gaja quiere presentar como su sello de calidad.
  La boca no sigue exactamente a esa nariz aunque a estás alturas se muestra sedosa aunque un poco alcohólica y desequilibrada en cuanto acidez. Llama a la comida.

• 2011 Gaja Barbaresco

  Italy, Piedmont, Langhe, Barbaresco

  Super aromatic, perfumed and powerful Barbaresco. A reflection of this particular vintage.
  Full of aromas of truffles, roses, earth. Delicious.
  On the palate, even been a young bottle, matched perfectly well that magnificent nose.
  Wine of reflexion. Calls for a Havana cigar.
  
  Perfumadísimo y potente. Un reflejo de esta añada concreta.
  Lleno de aromas a trufa, a rosas, a terreno. Deliciosa.
  Complejidad al extremo máximo.
  La boca, aún siendo joven, acompaña perfectamente a esa magnífica nariz.
  Vino de reflexión. Llama a un buen habano.

• 2008 Gaja Langhe Nebbiolo Sperss

  Italy, Piedmont, Langhe, Langhe DOC

  On the nose quite open and accessible. Earthy.
  Too much wood and hard tannins on the palate but theres light after the tunnel. Just needs time.
  
  Abierto y accesible en nariz. Terroso.
  En boca demasiada madera y taninos marcados pero con proyección. Hay luz después del túnel. Sólo necesita tiempo.

• 2005 Gaja Langhe Chardonnay Gaia & Rey Flawed

  Flawed?
  Behind the initial curtain of aromas of pineapple and tropical fruits I didn't found the promises land.
  Better palate more elegant but far from what I expected.
  Too much high expectations? Perhaps another bottle, another vintage...
  
  ¿Fallida?
  Tras una cortina de aromas a piña y a frutos tropicales no encontré nada de la tierra prometida.
  Mejor en boca más elegante pero lejos de lo que esperaba. Demasiadas expectativas? Quizás en otra botella, en otra añada....

Angelo Gaja isn't just a smart guy but a marketing showman.
Also a talented winemaker what I really appreciate.
He wants to be an artesant but clearly a successful businessman.
Retirement? Sounds like a joke...
