Small tasting. Traditional sense would say that the Clerc and Einaudi were very close as firsts and mostly everyone enjoyed the Savennieres, but my favorite was the Chinon. Weird, I use to really dislike Cab Franc and now I can't get enough.
2011 Damien Laureau Savennières Le Bel Ouvrage
France, Loire Valley, Anjou-Saumur, Savennières
Golden color, aged; lots of honey on the nose, stone, white powder, white flowers; powerful on the palate, young, honeysuckle, pear, apple, no new oak, lemony finish, hint of wooliness and grain; very good.

2006 Poderi Luigi Einaudi Barolo Terlo 91 Points
Italy, Piedmont, Langhe, Barolo
Darker core with crimson rim; sexy, red cherry, plum, spice, cedar, mint; softer texture initially then becomes grainier with prominent tannin (especially with more air), pure red cherry, drying on the finish though there's still great freshness and drinkability to the wine; very good.

2002 Château Larcis Ducasse
France, Bordeaux, Libournais, Saint-Émilion Grand Cru
Dark core with medium plus density, bricking with sediment; animal, ripe fruit, leather, cigar, black olive, cow pie; dark fruit, garrigue?, cranberry, tea, olive, heavier mouthfeel; weird bottle, obvious Brett but the flavors took everyone to CdP especially Pegau, a little bizarre.

2000 Château Clerc Milon 91 Points
France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Pauillac
Dark core with garnet rim, youthful; stank, char, cigar, leather, Bordeaux funk, green pepper, still compact, called Pauillac right off the bat; tannic, good weight, cedar, heat, spicy finish, some alcohol, a note of red cherry in the middle which was intoxicatingly good; a really well stored and infantile example of this great wine but once again the nose screams Pauillac and the palate lacks the balance which lead people to different corners of the Left Bank...typical Clerc.

2011 Charles Joguet Chinon Clos de la Dioterie

Bright purple rim with dark core; framboise, boysenberry, lots of fruit, ripe cherry, integrated spice, lavender, cinnamon, tree bark; nice mouthfeel, pleasant graininess, fruity yet dry, cool climate yet good ripeness; like a cross between a Cote Rotie Beaujolais Burgundy and CdP, not really screaming Cab Franc just yet; would like to track this wine's evolution.

2009 Mas de Daumas Gassac
France, Languedoc Roussillon, Languedoc, Pays d'Hérault
Dark core with thin garnet rim; overwhelming amount of sulfur dominates the nose, deep and brooding, cedar, garrigue; medium plus body, blackberry, plum, tingly (sulfur), herbs de Provence, juicy berry, spicy finish, leather, green pepper; good but really tough to discern the actual wine from the copious amounts of SO2, hope I can have another bottle 10 years from now that is showing its best.
