Popped and poured....very fine bubbles
Nose is really pretty....lime, lemon, mineral, caramel, and biscuit. Extended lees contact very evident. Fruit is very tart but rich.
The palate shows similar flavours with very tart lemon and lime fruits augmented with rich caramel and biscuit notes that round the wine out nicely.
Finish is long and quite complex with similar tart fruits from that palate but balanced with great richness and balance. The faintest whiff of alcohol does come out on the finish but this is still very fine

Wow...nose is powerful! dark fruit for sure but very integrated...cassis, blackcurrant, blackberry, black cherry liquor, graphite, mint, eucalyptus, smoke and mushroom dominate.
The palate is rich, but very elegant with great texture, fine tannins and great balancing acidity. Flavours move towards cedar, leather, cassis, black currant, mint, graphite, cherries and cassis.
The wine finishes long....complex, layered and balanced.

Bruised apple dominates the nose and is augmented by bug spray and some nail polish remover....some VA hanging around.
Oxidized and VA issues here.

1994 Beaulieu Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon Georges de Latour Private Reserve 90 Points

Cigarbox, spice, plum, black currant....big powerful fruit...prototypical cali cab nose.
Palate again showed pure blackfruit, tobacco, graphite, but the fruit is a touch sweet for me.
Finish is medium but fruit forward and a touch straightforward and simple.
After seeing which bottle this was, my hunch is that this is not a stellar example and may have seen less that optimal storage conditions.

The nose had menthol galore...eucalyptus, black raspberry, black cherry, dried pu'erh tea, earth and spice. The palate was really complex....black cherry, black currant, cherry liquor, eucalyptus, mint, black tea and menthol...this is deep and pure. Prototypical "Iron Fist in Velvet Glove" wine.
Finish was long, complex, powerful and elegant.
Stellar wine.

Wow....what a nose! Notes of earth, forrest floor, cedar, leather, iron, cold steel, bell pepper and red and boac currant, cherry and spice.
The palate shows cassis, black currant, spice, leather, cedar, earth, forrest floor, minerals. Great secondary and tertiary development.
Finish is never ending....enough said.
Thought this was 94 Dominus.

This was very earthy on the nose....blackfruit, spice, cedar, pyrazene and leather poke through making this quite perfumed.
The palate shows similar flavours of leather, cedar, black currants and cherries with great balancing acidity.
The finish is medium but falls off a bit with time....underwhelming on the backend.

This was quite sterile. The fruit was very ripe... "super fruit driven bomb" was what came out when I first smelled it. The fruit was jammy, clean and lacking complexity
The palate showed dark fruit, menthol, mint, but was really quite boring and simple.
Finish was medium but very ripe and lacking complexity.
This was a HUGE disappointment when we unveiled. No overt flaws, bad storage maybe?

Notes of menthol, pure dark fruit, mint....dense but lacking complexity....a typical cali bruiser.
Palate showed big dark fruit, mint, menthol but not a lot else...the fruit is overwhelming and over the top for me.
The finish had big fruit, nothing else and was boring to say the least

Sweet pipe tobacco, moss, soil, earth, herbs, eucalyptus, cherry, plum and cassis.
Great texture on the palate....coffee bean, menthol, tobacco, moss, soil, cured meat, iron, cherry and cassis dominate.
The finish is long, fresh and so lifted. Almost 95 points.

Ugh....simple ripe fruit, medicinal notes, cough syrup, and cotton candy.
Palate was WAY over the top....just too much, I don't like this style whatsoever.

Very ripe, quality fruit but overripe....prunes, dried raisin and some VA character are off putting
The palate shows dried prune, dried cherry and spice but is just too worked showing limited complexity.

This was a touch reduced on the nose but it faded with a bit of air. Some pretty dark cherry fruit, cedar, leather, meat and some Brett.
The palate was a bit heavier with some noticeable green pyrazene notes. This too, like some of the other wines we have had is has fruit in spades but no layers of flavour or nuanced textures. It's heavy.
The finish is medium with limited complexity.
