Introduction

My contribution, a 2006 Anne Gross Chambolle Musigny Combe d'Orveau bottle I bought five years ago at B-21 in Florida.

  • NV Osborne Jerez-Xérès-Sherry 30 Year Old 51-1a Amontillado VORS

    Spain, Andalucía, Jerez-Xérès-Sherry

    One of the best amontillado ever.
    Intense on the nose showing nutty aromas, all elegant and balanced.
    Also creamy and savoury on the palate. Long and very classy.
    Almost perfect pairing seafood stuffed with antichokes and deep fried cod croqueta.

    Uno de los mejores Amontillados que he tomado.
    Intenso en nariz mostrando aromas a frutis secos , todo elegancia y equilibrio.
    También cremoso y sabroso en boca. Largo y totalmente clásico.
    Casi una botella perfecta acompañando unos mejillones rellenos de alcachofas y croquetas de bacalao.

  • 2006 Domaine Anne Gros Chambolle-Musigny La Combe d'Orveau

    France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Chambolle-Musigny

    Charming and seductive on the nose. Delicate aromas of violets, red fruit and phosphor. Mature Chambolle.
    Balancing every element in the mouth. Silky texture for a good acidity what's promising more time ahead so this vintage isn't so much short as many were prognosticating.
    Paired a carabinieri rissoto.

    En nariz encantadora y seductora. Aromas delicados a violetas, frutillos rojos y fósforo. Un Chambolle maduro.
    Equilibrando en boca cada elemento. De textura asedada con una buena acidez lo que promete más tiempo por delante así que esta añada no es tan corta como muchos estaban pronosticando.
    Acompaño un rissoto de carabineros.

  • 1998 Azienda Bricco Rocche (Ceretto) Barolo Bricco Rocche

    Italy, Piedmont, Langhe, Barolo

    Starting with horse manure turning into a earthy nose full of aromas of violets and truffles. More modern of what I expected. Perhaps that sweet touch was the only thing I disliked.
    Better performance in the mouth. Complex and savoury. Sightly tannic but accessible.
    Quite delicious matching a timbale di pasta.

    Comenzó con olor a estiércol de caballo para mostrar una nariz a tierra llena de aromas a violetas y trufas. La esperaba menos moderna. Quizás lo único que no me gustó fue ese toque dulce.
    Mejor desarrollo en boca. Compleja y sabrosa. Ligeramente tánica pero accesible.
    Bastante rica acompañando un timbal de pasta.
