Flight 1 (8 Notes)

  • 2013 Foppiano Sauvignon Blanc Estate

USA, California, Sonoma County, Russian River Valley

Bright, light. Low acid, full fruit with a bit of sweetness. Lots of mineral and stone. Not a typical Sauv Blanc--this doesn't have the sharp green grassiness that I tend not to like. Good.

Light, soft. Light Oak & malo. Balanced with just a little tropical fruit. Nice, easy to drink simple chardonnay.

  • 2009 Foppiano Petite Sirah Gianna's Block

USA, California, Sonoma County, Russian River Valley

Soft, round & silky. Coffee, blueberry. A big, sweetish wine that doesn't have enough structure for my taste.

Closing

Good, well made if not inspiring wine that is very good for the prices, especially with the club discount. I joined the club so I could have some less expensive every day drinking bottles around the house.
