Tonight's bottle was bright, energetic and incredibly pleasurable. All about lemon, lemon peel with lots of taut acidity and minerality. Long and exciting, in sharp contrast to a tired bottle from the same case opened a few weeks ago.
Lots of ripe stone fruit aroma and flavors, mature beyond its years. Enjoyable to start, less interesting and more advanced with more time in glass. Popped and poured, and I wouldn't open this any sooner before serving. Last few bottles haven't lived up to bottles opened as recently as 2011.
Dried apricot with lots of concentration and power. This wine has always showed this lush, spicy character that might not be typically Chablis but clearly a charming Chardonnay that is easy to enjoy now and will stay like this for at least 5 more years.
Absolutely sensational in every way. open ~30 minutes before serving, then kept in glass for close to two hours. Lemon, lemon peel, lime and grapefruit came through at various points in its unfolding. Perhaps slightly reductive start, but this got bigger, bolder and increasingly exciting with more time in glass. Thank you, Brock!
Lean and lithe with lots of power and energy throughout, showcasing a cross-section of citrus fruit and peel with depth coming through from acidity, minerality and evolving fruit. Really showing the classic Chablis oystershell character from start to finish.
Not quite as bright as I recall from when last tried a few years ago, still showing apple and lemon custard on nose and palate. Drinking well now, just not at the level of the prior bottle or of the Fevre 2008 Clos also opened tonight.
A big step up from the 2008 Bougros Cote de Bouguerots also tasted tonight, this was lean and energetic to start, but then powerful and concentrated from middle to end. Great balance.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Chambertin-Clos de Bèze Grand Cru
Slight signs of leakage and depressed cork, even with fill of 0.5 cm. Mature red and black cherry on nose and palate with spice profile sweeter than I would expect from Gevrey-Chambertin Grand Cru, but that might also be a byproduct of early maturity that could be bottle specific. Moderate intensity.

Came across extremely ripe and short of acidity. Slightly tired to start, very tired when open 30 minutes.

An odd bottle, possibly slightly corked given how it started off poorly and stripped of fruit and then rapidly declined. But not "classically" corked.

Aromatically off center but seemingly corked on palate. One person incorrectly disagreed.
