Toast and red apple on the spicy nose; rounded yet refreshing palate, spicy, clearly lots of Pinot but there is floral and citrussy Chardonnay too; good intensity and length.
Light but fragrant and does not lack intensity, strawberries and undergrowth, silky texture, freshness from the stalks and nice minerality, floral (rose) and herbal topnotes, just the right level of tannic grip, hint of cream, good length. A lovely Auxey, a feminine style.
Bottled 1978. Pale green colour; incredibly intense nose of bitter mountain herbs and citrus zest, gingerbread, deep and rich; the palate is very powerful, extremely concentrated, medium-dry, hot and flavoursome; complex and complete finish, excellent length.
