Musk, cherry, some meatiness and licorice. Savoury palate, with a vein of red fruit that lends some nice flavour alongside the texture of the more savoury notes. Liked the Langhe Nebbiolo from 2011 that I had next to this more, but still good.
Smoke, floral, plum and some meatiness. Fine but persistent tannins play off against expansive fruit. Really nice drinking - blends complexity and flavour intensity really well. At its level I'm very happy with it.
Took time to open up in the glass. Graphite, bacon and floral aromas. Good drive, fine tannins with some intense fruit and medium length. Isn't all that deep but should develop over the medium term.
Violet, cinnamon, pepper and earth. Powerful fruit with an underlay of fine tannin. This is more approachable than the 04 next to it but the structure is still very good for 2007. Different to the 04 but I liked it equally.
Violets, rhubarb, slate and earth. Has impact on the palate, really impressive structure via the tannins. Really needs food at this stage of its life. Should age beautifully.
Tar and charred oak, some blackcurrant and meatiness. Rather fruit forward on the palate, there is good acid but it doesn't seem to have the required structure to me.
Cherry, spice, some stalk, tar and musk. Well structured - much better than the 07 for me. There is fruit impact but also restraint to it with savoury elements helping. Good texture and length. Needs more time.

Lemon, sea spray and musky florals. Super refreshing, love the acidity on this bottle, seriously cleansing. Lovely.

Plum, charcoal and raspberry. Good body, has fruit character without feeling overly plush. Some good acidity keeps it moving. Easy to drink.
