  • 1989 Château Margaux 97 Points

    France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Margaux

Tried the same wine the day before. Loved that wine, but this was a much better bottle.

More of everything; complexity, purity, intensity, very lively, at the same time smooth and lean, ingratiating as sunny autumn day.

More of this, yes! The shining star of the night.

Tasted blind, and I was hugely surprised when it came out as a 1934 portugeese red wine from a not too well-known region for old wines.
