Flight 1 (2 Notes)

  • 2012 Flam Classico Judean Hills 84 Points

    Israel, Judean Hills

    transparent violet
fresh red plums with vanilla-oak notes
full bodied, high acidity, firm tannins, rich plums flavors, some spicy-tobacco subtle flavors with lot of oak-vanilla, rich med finish. May improve within 1-2 years of further ageing, but will remain rustic daily wine with no pretensions.

  • 2011 Maresha Estate Winery Guvrin Stream 85 Points

    Israel, Samson

    50% Pinotage, 50% Syrah; 14.6% ABV

    dark red color
developed dark fresh red fruits aroma with spicy & oak-vanilla notes
med-full bodied, spicy fruity flavors with dusty hints, well balanced, average harmony (mainly due to this unusual blend?) , firm young tannins, juicy and suitable to light pastry and meaty dishes.
    med finish.

Maresha is a boutique winery which produces 4000 bottles. A nice effort.
