  France, Provence, Bandol

  Full yellow color. Slightly exotic, aromatic nose. Richer style with real glycerine feel. Bright orange blossom fruit and mineral finish. Excellent.

• 2012 Clos Ste. Magdeleine Cassis Blanc

  France, Provence, Cassis

  Deep yellow. Musky nose. Full bodied, lots of vanilla, downplayed fruit. Somewhat dull, low acid feel. I much preferred the Terrebrune Blanc today.

• 2010 Domaine du Deffends Côteaux Varois Clos de la Truffiere

  Dark red. Redolent of anise and herbs. Medium weight, unburdened by wood. Olives and blackberry fruit, really nice, elegant feel, fine acidity to balance. Wonderful Cabernet-based wine and a tremendous bargain. Nothing prevents current enjoyment, but it has the balance to last 3 or 4 years.

• 2011 Dupéré Barrera Côtes de Provence Clos de la Procure

  Medium red center with clearing edge. Pungent, smoky aromatics. Lighter weight with a touch of oak. Savory dark red fruits and a mixture of herbs really shout "south of France!". Lively in the mouth, gentle tannins. Quite delightful.

• 2011 Domaine Dupuy de Lôme Bandol

  France, Provence, Bandol

  Medium center. All garrigue on the nose. Medium weight with a moderate oaky presence. Classic blueberry fruit and baking spices. Very modern, polished style, but slightly grainy tannins give it some grip and the sense of something in reserve.
