  • 2013 Oyster Bay Chardonnay

    New Zealand, South Island, Marlborough

    Full yellow. Bright citrus and a little caramel. Medium body, nice texture. Fresh, straightforward, some churned butter, clean and simple.

  • 2013 Oyster Bay Sauvignon Blanc

    New Zealand, South Island, Marlborough

    Yellow. Assertively varietal pungent, cat pee nose. Zingy acidity, a touch of flesh, good minerality, bitter finish.

  • 2012 Kim Crawford Sauvignon Blanc SP Spitfire

    New Zealand, South Island, Marlborough

    Yellow. More floral and less fruity than the Oyster Bay. Bigger, oilier style. Fruit downplayed, lots of dill and green herbs. Tart finish.

  • 2012 Oyster Bay Pinot Noir

    New Zealand, South Island, Marlborough

    Light red. Nose of high char oak. Light and supple. Easy, sweet red fruit upfront, then dry back palate shortened by the wood. Not bad, but too much cooperage for what it is.

  • 2012 Kim Crawford Pinot Noir SP Rise and Shine Creek Central Otago

    New Zealand, South Island, Otago, Central Otago

    Medium ruby. Ripe, liqueur-like black cherry fruit. Relatively big and mouthcoating. Round, fully ripe fruit with a touch of smoky oak that expands toward the end. Very good in richer, New World style-little terroir to be found.

  • 2013 Oyster Bay Merlot

    New Zealand, North Island, Hawke's Bay

    Ruby. Lightly herbal aromas. Medium weight, supple, nice texture with good acidity and low tannins. Dark red fruit and soil. Real character rather than insipid Merlot. Good value.
