Introduction
3 different thin-skinned grape varietals: Pinot Noir, Gamay, & Nerello Mascalese. Finishing off with a Cerasuolo.
2010 Domaine Dominique Mugneret Nuits-Saint-Georges Les Fleurières 89 Points

Tasted blind. Brought by a friend who tasted it the day before, when it was exceptionally tight. He re-corked the bottle.
Appearance is clear, pale intensity, ruby colour. Legs.
Nose is clean, medium intensity, with aromas of earth, oak, red fruit, and spice. Developing.
On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium alcohol, medium tannins, medium+ body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of sweet earth, red cherry, strawberry, spice, and slight mushroom. Medium+ finish. Overall quite structured and masculine, but the flavours are slightly disjointed.
Good quality. Judging from the tightness of the wine from the day before, and the disjointedness at this point in time, I would think this should be cellared for another 4-5 years to allow for some smoothening out and integration to take place.

2004 Stephane Aviron Morgon Côte du Py Vieilles Vignes 90 Points

Appearance is clear, pale intensity, ruby colour with a slight tinge of purple. Nice colour retention for a 10 year old. Legs.
Nose is clean, medium intensity, with aromas of stems, dark cherry, and earth. Developing.
On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium alcohol, medium- tannins, medium body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of dark cherry, sour plums, sweet earth. With more air, the stemminess became even more obvious. Medium+ finish.
Good quality Beaujolais cru. Can definitely feel the concentration of flavour from the old vines. This feels like it could still last for another 5 years with more tertiary notes developing, but I'm not a fan of the stemmy thing going on here.

Appearance is clear, pale intensity, ruby colour. Legs.
Nose is clean, pronounced intensity, with lovely aromas of meaty beef broth, sweet caramel, and earthiness. Developed.
On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium+ alcohol, grippy medium+ tannins, medium+ body. Pronounced flavour intensity, with flavours of sweet red cherry, strawberry, caramel, beef broth, and smoky earth. Very structured. With more air, the caramel became more vanilla-like. Long finish.
Very good quality. A lovely elegant wine from Sicily. Drinking very well now on pop and pour. Drink up within next 2-3 years, not for further ageing.

2011 Azienda Agricola Valentini Cerasuolo d'Abruzzo 95 Points

Appearance is clear, pale intensity, unique brownish pink colour. Legs.
Nose is clean, pronounced intensity, with aromas of barbecued meat, smoky earth, clay, loam. Developing. What on EARTH!? This is a Rosé wine!???
On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium+ alcohol, low tannins, medium body. Pronounced flavour intensity, with flavours of barbecued meat, smoky clayey earth, minerality, sour cherries, strawberries. Medium+ finish.
Ok I admit this will be a deeply polarizing wine, with its fair share of lovers and haters. It is difficult to pigeonhole this wine in any clear-cut category. It definitely doesn't taste like the usual Rosé wines. I liken this to a white wine with red wine characteristics. You can say I'm biased, but I'm still giving this 95 points.
Outstanding quality. Nice to drink now, and will continue to develop over the next 5+ years. An ageable Rosé.
I can totally see why the late Edoardo Valentini declared this his favourite wine among the 3 wines he produced.
