  • 1995 Charles Heidsieck Champagne Blanc des Millénaires 97 Points

    France, Champagne

Very recent disgorgement. Intense but lively bright yellow, fine bead; exceptionally deep, complex and harmonious nose, intense but very subtle, white flowers, herbs, citrus, tropical fruits, toast, hint of nuts; seamless palate, explosive fruit intensity, superb toasty warmth, savoury note, exceptional power and drive for a Blanc de Blancs; outstanding finish, great length. Lives up to its reputation.

  • 2006 Claude Cazals Champagne Grand Cru Brut Millésimé 91 Points

    France, Champagne, Champagne Grand Cru

Very clean and fragrant style, hint of white hazelnut, precise and pure, mineral and tightly wound but not austere, elegant, floral, good length. Speaks eloquently of its Le Mesnil terroir and of the slightly warmer 2006 vintage.

  • 2011 Bérêche et Fils Coteaux Champenois Ormes Rouge Les Montées 90 Points

    France, Champagne, Coteaux Champenois

Single vineyard, 0.3 ha parcel, vines planted in 1965. A blend of Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier. Pale strawberry colour; very fragrant and aromatic nose, fresh and floral, with lovely red cherries from the Pinot Noir and spice from the Meunier; the palate is silky, fresh, beautifully balanced, slender and elegant with nice warmth from the oak and perfect tannic grip, pure; good length.
