Reminded me of a good, oaked Chardonnay, it had that typical buttery note on the nose and palate. Was quite surprised to learn that it didn't see any oak. Lively and elegant, accidity on the high side, finish quite long. Beautiful development in the glass with some muscat-like notes. Very good.
Nose was quite calm for a malbec, dusty cherries, may be tobacco, as well as some alcohol bite. Medium light body, suave, soft, quite round, pleasant balance. Probably not enough accidity for the long haul. Evidently this was kept in a more roasted barrel than 2300m and 2600m ones.
Some beetroot on the nose, reminded me a bit of Chinon, it had this restrained vegetality rather than plush, soft Malbec jammy nose. Sweetness, sweeter than 1700m one, also more mineral and salty. Probably most complex among 1700m and 2600m.
Same vegatal note that I had with 2200m one. Like an earthy box of potatoes. More firm, not as open than the ones growing lower. Also the darkest colour. More tannins, some pepper and a very slight bitterness on the finish. A nice rosted note develops with air.
10% of 1700m + 65% of 2200m + 25% of 2500m, 15m oak. Same vegetal notes of beetroot and carrots. Gentle, quite round and balanced. Medium+ body, friendly, open and begs for a good piece of meat. High accidity, but may be not very complex.
More human skin aromas in this one, also alcohol bite is stronger. Soft alcoholic fruitiness, finish more rough and bitter, not that pleasant without food.
Unoaked malbec, what an interesting experience! Very pleasant, soft, complex nose of barnyard, milk, open fruitiness. Tannins not that evident and are may be softer, evidently the grapes were picked very ripe for this wine. To me it seemed that this wine lacked a bit of structure, nevertheless it was very educating and probably eye-opening to try this.
Very oaky, ripe, late harvest style. Nose is quite restrained (after all these other malbecs), the mouthfeel is very good, but alcohol shows itself too much here. Alcoholic bite on the bakcpalate, edgy MW style, too extracted and bitter. Probably will improve with time, but now compared to the rest of the Colome malbecs, this is the weakest spot.
