Lots of depth in this well balanced and quite complex rose. Very layered with delicious strawberry fruit quality and an impeccable bead.

NV Gatinois Champagne Grand Cru Brut Rosé 90 Points

Light salmon. Spicy (cinnamon) nose with vibrant and lifted raspberry fruit. Impeccable mouthfeel. Certainly outstanding and very fresh.

Superb and drinking in early maturity. Ripe pear, lime peel, minerals, honey and a hint of petrol on the nose. Full bodied and opulent in the mouth with perfect balance, great ripeness and huge acid structure that is hidden behind the richness. While this wine has certainly developed bottle age, to is a certain bet to improve over the next 10-20 years...

(Stelvin closure). Still very fresh. Clean and vibrant nose that emphasizes round oak quality. In the mouth, rather simple but the bright fruit is well married to the oak. All that is lacking is a greater sense of complexity and/or minerality.

2011 Domaine Gruss & Fils Pinot Gris Les Argiles Blanches 84 Points

Correct Alsatian pinot gris. Excellent varietal style but currently quite young. At the moment, it feels a little simple (although well concentrated) but I will not be surprised to see this wine improve over the next 5-7 years. 84+

2000 Château Pichon-Longueville Baron 96 Points

Superb Paulliac from 2000. Only just in early maturity - still primary but with some bottle age nuance starting to makes its presence felt. Rich and spicy blackcurrant with classy oak handling. This has great proportion, masses of structure and classy (and classic) fruit. Whilst firm in the mouth, it also has brilliant ripeness that allows for great enjoyment now but wonderful promise for the future, Classic wine with great potential. 96+

1995 Penfolds Grange 93 Points

Voluptuous and sweet nose with considerable creamy coconut laden American oak. Silky and creamy in the mouth - this is a softy with considerable tannic structure lurking behind the fruit. Wonderful length and a refined quality add up to a popular wine at the dinner. Certainly outstanding and a wine that will age as long as anyone would want. It is an old fashioned style that is great to drink from time to time. The wine is in a good place at the moment - in early to mid maturity. (opened due to a corked 1995 Mouton Rothschild).

1990 Château d'Yquem 93 Points

Very developed color. Dark caramel aromas intertwine beautifully with the orange peel and vanillin oak notes. In the mouth, dark, rich and balanced with the age and acid contribting t oa clean and fesh finish, despite the opulence and sugar. For me, certainly outstanding but not an extraordinary experience.
