Winos Reunion Dinner--Single Blind, Best of Cellar

Flight 1 - Initial Flight--Best of Cellar Single Blind (5 Notes)

  • 1990 E. Guigal Côte-Rôtie La Mouline 100 Points

    France, Rhône, Northern Rhône, Côte-Rôtie

1990 Guigal La Mouline (contributor RS)--This was undeniably the WOTN. Gorgeous colour--ruby, with some garnet tinges. An enthralling nose of smoke, roasted meats, black fruits. Impeccably balanced on the palate, with immense depth and complexity balanced by wonderful sweetness. Drinking at its prime. 100 points

  • 1990 Château Latour Grand Vin 98 Points

    France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Pauillac

1990 Chateau Latour (contributor KS)--A very close second to the 90 La Mouline. Showing a little age through lightening of colour, but no garnet/bricking. Gorgeous, complex aromas of cedar, earth, black fruits. Unbelievable depth on the palate, and layers of taste sensations that go on and on. Beautiful long finish. 98 points

  • 2000 E. Guigal Côte-Rôtie La Mouline 95 Points

    France, Rhône, Northern Rhône, Côte-Rôtie

2000 Guigal La Mouline (contributor RS)--Popped, decanted and poured. Needed time. Very rich nose, but as yet underdeveloped. The wine has great ingredients and pedigree, and will be an unbelievably good experience in another 5 years. Beautiful. 95 points

  • 2011 Pahlmeyer Merlot 93 Points

    USA, California, Napa Valley

2011 Pahlmeyer Merlot (contributor KS)--Dark, almost black in colour. Sweet, jammy fruit, offset by rich, soft tannins and strong acidity. The oak is very, very predominant. Wait 5 years. 93 points
