According to Raymond Chan's blog, the vineyard locates in Lowburn Valley in Central Otago, 6.5 ha. Adam Peren was a founding director of Peregrine, but sold out "to enjoy the single vineyard challenge”.
light lemon yellow and green. fresh citrus and mineral notes. crispy acidity and pleasant sweetness, medium-dry style, some green apple and honey hints, medium structure but fully mellowed and balanced. clean finish. harmonious and enjoyable.
light ruby, clear and bright. open cherry and red fruits nose. jammy, silky tannins, fresh acidity. light/medium bodied, slightly wood touching, well balanced. dry finish with some earth and herbal notes. Yealands Estate purchased fruits from some Gibbston Valley vineyards. compare to those big names in that region, lighter than Gibbston Valley Winery and Peregrine, simpler than Brennan, however, it's quite tasty with flawless quality, good try from this Marlborough giant.
medium ruby with dark garnet core. quite closed nose, some red and dark berries. fruity palate, velvety tannins, a little powdery. medium/full bodied with oak flavours. big structure. medium dry finish.
classic ruby. moderate dark cherry and blueberry nose. super smooth texture, all balanced, flawless, even and plush style. serious and brooding, some complexity and elegance. medium dry finish with moderate vanilla and chocolate. my favourite one tonight (although it's just silver medal in IWSC).
