Ten St.Joseph and a couple of Cornas - blind tasting

Introduction
The only thing I knew that there will be ten St.Joseph reds and a couple of Cornas. This proved to be a very interesting and educational tasting, where price of the bottle or the label didn't influence my opinion. The wines were served in the order of the tasting notes.
2010 Paul Jaboulet Aîné Saint-Joseph Le Grand Pompée 87 Points
France, Rhône, Northern Rhône, Saint-Joseph
(Tasted blind) Pleasantly sweet, nose of honey comb, sous-bois and mushroom notes. Quite calm, good balance, elegant. Light, airy style. (B+)

2009 André Perret Saint-Joseph Les Grisières 85 Points

(Tasted blind) Much darker than Jaboulet St.Joseph Le Grand Pompée 2010 tasted before it. A riper, more extracted style. Quite silky, dry, fruits hiding behind a veil of tannins. Not ready yet, good development potential. Now - (B/B-)

(Tasted blind) Interesting, vegetable nose that reminded me of Chinon - boiled carrot, some unripe red berries, mushroom. A very mild peppery bite on the finish. (B/B+)

(Tasted blind) Not very open, quite restrained nose of tobacco, but superb mouthfeel - very intriguing wine on the palate. Upon tasting I though that I could drink a bottle of this over an evening. Though, it is not always easy to tell the specific elements of the wine that resonated with me. (B+)

(Tasted blind) Lovely, a bit vegetable-barnyard influenced nose, note of onion (?). Mild, round, unobtrusive. (B+)

2010 Thierry Allemand Cornas Reynard 86 Points

(Tasted blind) Very dark compared to all the St.Josephs tasted on that day. Nose seemed closed, but it had a very good mouthfeel and balance. I didn't note anything particularly outstanding - elegant, classic style, some tobacco and black pepper on the nose, it seemed young and seemed to have good cellaring potential. May be Very good, but no way Excellent now. (B)

(Tasted blind) Again an onion note to the wine! Also vegetal and some pickle juice, noticeable accidity, as well as vanilla on the finish. (B/B+)

(Tasted blind) This was a cuvee withouth SO2 "Sans soufre ajoute". Wow, very interesting, a bit dirty nose of pickle juice and what not. Very different from all other wines. Some pleasant sweetness. One of the most intriguing wines of the tasting. (A-)

(Tasted blind) Vanilla toast, pond, river bottom aromas, may be barnyard - hauntingly pleasant and very peculiar! Soft mouthfeel, very pleasant. Loved this, especially the nose. (A-)

(Tasted blind) Metallic-vegetal as well as pickle juice nose. Very high accidity, palate mirrors the nose. It had a difficult time after the previous couple of wines. (B-)
