Sulfury nose with yeastiness. Dry and medium bodied. The sulfur makes it hard to assess.

Some brioche. Lovely balance and length. Very youthful for 15 year old wine-no mature notes. Dry, excellent stony finish. One of my favorites tonight.

Frothy. Sweeter entry but nice dry finish. Some mature Champagne notes.

I'll give this bottle the benefit of the doubt and say it was off-full of sulfur and caramel flavors. No.

Magnum. Pale green. Sulfur and yeast. Unfortunately, this was so marked by sulfur that the flavors were clipped and stunted.

Salmon colored. Elegant with fine, subtle faded red fruit. By far the best of the 3 Goutorbe wines tonight.

NV Ruppert-Leroy Pinot Noir Champagne Brut Nature Les Cognaux

Serious, full, dry Pinot-based wine. Very good. I liked both wines from this producer who is previously unknown to me.

Rather bland and neutral. Not much of an impression at all.

A big step up from the Brut Reserve. Finer, lively acidity, good minerality. Excellent.

Fuller bodied, moderate dosage. Black fruit, drier finish. Again, pretty crowd pleasing style like the Blanc de Blancs.

NV Laurent-Perrier Champagne Grand Siecle
France, Champagne
Yeasty nose, noticeably sweet. Just not that focused or distinguished in any way.
