A small and private farewell with Greg. Lovely company and great conversation.
Linguine Cabonara to start followed by a substantive steak.
A lovely lunch that whiled awaw 4.5 hours - very memorable.
1995 Ackerman Family Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon 98 Points
USA, California, Napa Valley
Not actually an Ackerman but from their museum and unretailed Stonehaven range of Cab Sav. Remarkably fine wine.
Dusty smokiness yet refined and complex nose. Tobacco, slight hint of mint, dark cherry, rum, muscat, preserved fruit and honeys. Evolved in the glass with remarkable generosity for its age and origin. Simply a joy to drink.

Just maturing and tasting silky smooth with power developing in the glass. Cherries and berries and youthful vitality
