#BYOB - Very well made, and quite modern styled. True to its heritage though, with some black pepper, lots of dark fruit, blackberries, blackcurrants and a little plum. On top of this Liquorice, and oaky spices, cloves and cinnamon.
Approachable on the palate, with a medium+ acidity, lots of fruit a bit of tannins, good intensity and a long, dry finish.

#BYOB - I can't understand the low ratings this wine and vintage gets. This is freaking delicious!
Lots of spices on the nose, with green peppercorns, black tea, earth, meat, blackcurrants, funk, forest mushrooms and some green notes.
Fresh, high acidity with a medium body. Dry, but round tannins and good intensity and length. Not a wine for the fruit lovers, but for us who enjoy a bit of elegance and freshness this is just spot on ;)

#BYOB - Lovely wine! Nose is slightly less spicy compared to the '08 but with more meat and funk. Steak tartare, cured sausage, raspberries, blackcurrants and a bit of bayanus yeast perfume. Medium+ acidity, medium body, and a really good length. Impeccable balance and starting to show some maturation. Dry, long finish. Darn tasty!

#BYOB - Not very surprisingly a lot more maturity here compared to the '06 by its side. Meat bonanza with sour, cured sausages (Swedish Onsalakorv), raw meat, black minced pepper, barnyard, earth, soy sauce, mushrooms and a bit of cherries. Developed palate with less fruit and a more pronounced acidity. Medium body, good intensity and a dry finish. No tannins to speak of. Grows a lot in the glas during the night. Yummy!

#BYOB A bit heavy and sticky on the nose, but to its defense it had impossible competition (LaLaLa). Spicy, peppery sausages, liquorice, fennel, perfume, dark fruit, blackberries, plums, sweet cherries, rice crackers and some raw meat. Palate is dominated by fruit with a medium+ acidity, good intensity and length. And as what seems to always be the case with Guigals wines, great balance. Dry finish, but not tannic.

#BYOB Out of the evenings 10 Guigal wines, this is the only one showing hints of sulfur. Rubber, burned, roasted oak, minerals, earth, menthol and dark cherries. Medium acidity with lots of fruit. Medium+ body with good intensity and a dry, good finish. Tasty but pales in comparisons to what comes next. #BYOB

#BYOB Out-f-ing-standing! Truly a great wine! Not the biggest nose, but incredible complexity. Distinct maturity, green pepper, butter, wood, roasted oak, cherries, jasmine flowers, raw meat, violets, fennels, raspberries and some blackcurrants. Deep layered nose.
But the real treat is the fantastic palate. Dry, silky smooth tannins, creamy texture, with a fresh high acidity and round supple fruit. Medium body, high intensity and a looong, loong finish that just keeps growing in the mouth for minutes. #BYOB

Clearly more mature than the '97 La Turque by its side. And I won't keep my last bottle for too long. Nose is dominated by lovely roasted oak, coffee, leather, tobacco, ceder, pepper, meat and some green notes.
High acidity, mature fruit and velvety smooth texture. High intensity, and a long, but quite dry finish. Looking forward to try again, on its own. Had a hard time impressing with its younger brother excelling in such convincing manners. #BYOB

2012 Delas Frères Hermitage Blanc Domaine des Tourettes 90 Points
France, Rhône, Northern Rhône, Hermitage
#BYOB - Most definitely a high quality wine, but it is far of my taste and thus 90 points but no more. Not a lot of fruit, but quite fresh nontheless. Citrus, flowers, grape, stony minerality, a bit of roasted oak and lots of raw wood.
My problem with white Rhone wines is the non existent acidity, for me they are just lacking what makes white wines so great! The palate has a quite oily, fat texture. Very good intensity and a long, just slightly warm finish.

2003 E. Guigal Ermitage Blanc Ex-Voto 90 Points
France, Rhône, Northern Rhône, Hermitage
#BYOB - I don't understand this wine. Incredibly deep and complex nose with candle wax, butter, paint bucket, turpentine, corn, wood, ceder, furniture polish, smoke, leather and bitter oranges. Distinct oxidation, with similarities to the Colheita port tasted earlier the same day. Even though it has a good intensity, a full body it is strangely lacking in composure.
I guess you really have to enjoy this type of wine, what a waste on me!
