  Drinking very well. Fine lively bubbles. Plenty of freshness, lemon and things citrus. But an underlying tastiness and lovely clean finish. Most enjoyable.

• 2010 Château de Puligny-Montrachet Saint-Aubin 1er Cru En Remilly Blanc 91 Points

  France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Saint-Aubin 1er Cru

  Fine light gold, hints of green. Plenty of lime and lemon citrus, maybe grapefruit too. Fine touch of light honey. Some florality. Almost hints of a ripe chablis. Good length. Fine white burg, shame the rest of the world has picked up on how good these St Aubins can be.

  Very deep ruby. Plenty or black fruits, some plum. Well resolved tannins and decent acidity. However no higher score a t here is some green leafiness there. Maybe trying too hard for elegance? And not greatly complex either. But OK.

• 1990 Château La Lagune 93 Points

  Lovely dark ruby, fading to edge. Amazing nose, berries, flowers, incense and wood. Plenty to solid dark berry fruit. Then a range of wild and complex tastes - roast beef, cedar, eastern spices. Really lovely and absolutely a point right now. Just what you age claret for.
