Pleasure to see old friends and make new ones. and always fun to drink with JB and taste some of his newly released treasures.
these notes were brief and rather less than satisfactory - but i wanted to record something of the night - for it was a great time.
there was also scotch and rum... both delicious. no notes - since notes by that point became completely incoherent :)
Hope to see you all soon!
2010 Weingut Jakob Schneider Niederhäuser Hermannshöhle Riesling trocken MAGNUS 91 Points
Germany, Nahe
Needs time. When we came back to it in 3-4 hours it really opened up a lot - showing more fruit and zing. i was beyond taking notes by that point though. good fruit. Big wine - has amazing slate/stone notes. Ripe orchard fruit in the mid. totally dry finish. My next one will have to wait a few years.

2001 Joh. Jos. Prüm Wehlener Sonnenuhr Riesling Auslese 93 Points
Germany, Mosel Saar Ruwer
Needs time. Started of with SO2 but that blew off. Only showed its real colors hours later - when there was merely a quarter of a glass left. Ripe core, apples and pears in the middle mixing with peaches. red berries on the finish. classic Mosel floral notes. this will be stunning - but i wouldn't open it now.
