    Amazing white burg, that actually had me in Puligny, such is the precision and elegance here. Acidty, citrus, exotic fruit, butter - it is all here, and it gets better and better in the glass.

    One usually does not serve 2006's for friends, but of course Restorff knew, what he was doing; an extreme elegance is present, and the wine is quite open and forward with loads of red berries and minerals. On of the best red burgs from 2006, that i have had.

  • 2000 Château de Beaucastel Châteauneuf-du-Pape Hommage à Jacques Perrin 97 Points

    I was all over the place with this wine when tasting blind, mostly in Burgundy, such is the elegance of this Mourvèdre-wine, by far the best neuf, I have tasted from the somewhat dubious 2000-vintage; the elegance and balance is stunning, everything is smooth, yet loads of character, spine & spice is left here. Much unlike the 2001-Hommage, this is fully mature, but still has 10 years to go at least. (extravarganza at Søllerød Kro with T & AD).

  • 2000 Paolo Scavino Barolo Riserva Rocche dell'Annunziata

    Italy, Piedmont, Langhe, Barolo

    A majestic wine, still very young and tight, extremely concentrated, tannins are alive, the fruit is full but also with a touch of heat, to which I am admittedly hypersensitive, but still - tells the story of the 2000 vintage. A splendid wine, just not my kind of vintage, I guess. (with AD & T at Søllerød Kro).

  • 2010 Roger Sabon Châteauneuf-du-Pape Le Secret des Sabon 96 Points

    France, Rhône, Southern Rhône, Châteauneuf-du-Pape

    Very young, very concentrated, very balanced, this really is a very good example of the vintage, and tasted vis-a-vis the 09 and 06, this shows the majestic quality of the vintage. The wine, of course, should not be touched for ten years, but I have high hopes, that this could actually live up to the name of this often dubious cuvée.

  • 2009 Roger Sabon Châteauneuf-du-Pape Le Secret des Sabon 91 Points

    France, Rhône, Southern Rhône, Châteauneuf-du-Pape

    Tasted vis-a-vis the 2010, this falls behind quite a bit; while still good wine on does detect hints of heat behind the very concentrated, juicy exterior. It has the obviousness of the vintage, somewhat surprising, as this cuvée more often than not is quite restrained.

  • 2006 Roger Sabon Châteauneuf-du-Pape Le Secret des Sabon 93 Points

    France, Rhône, Southern Rhône, Châteauneuf-du-Pape

    Quite delicious, showing the cool charm of the vintage, and this is actually almost ready to go, showing clear, cool grenache-fruit, garrigue, good acidity and length. It will keep 10 years, but is no sin to open one now and check for yourself.
