  • 2010 Edmond Cornu & Fils Bourgogne Les Barrigards

    Dark see through ruby; rose, structure, sour red cherry, meaty, a little shy on the nose; densely packed fruit on the palate, ripe strawberry, pure red cherry, tannic, not dissimilar to Nebbiolo; I called NSG; could use 5 years.

    Medium extraction, garnet core with bright violet rim; sweet, black pepper, glycerin, violets, dark raspberry, elegant, young, perfumed; sweet purple fruit, some dark red almost candied fruit, good balance; very good.

    See through crimson with orange rim; dill, vanilla, menthol, strawberry, cherry, Rioja Reserva or higher, bay leaf, mint, sage, herbal, thinner layer of fruit; strawberry, cherry, good acid, oak is tolerable; nailed it on the dot.

    Dark core, chocolaty, tawny edge showing lots of bricking; cigar, loamy soil, currant, some soy, leather; fat, aged, leather, some fruit, soy, ginger bread; old but hanging in there, still some sweet fruit.

    65% Grenache, 20% Syrah, 10% Mourvedre, 5% Cinsault; dark core with lighter dull crimson rim; raw meat, meaty cherry, raspberry, cranberry; tart, traditional, medicinal bitter raspberry; traditional but the vintage gives nice fat; very good; in a great spot now.
