On the palate, dry, almost searing high acidity, medium alcohol, medium+ body. Pronounced flavour intensity, with flavours of stony slate minerality, lemon, grapefruit, slight bitter almond towards the finish. Long persistent finish. The intense minerality literally hits you like a rock on the attack. Very good quality. Intense, mineral-driven, high acid white. Stainless steel. No oak. May be extreme to amateurs. Age-worthy and has the stuffing to last long, but I think this 5 year old bottle is unlikely to develop any more complexity.

Tasted blind. Popped and allowed to slow-ox in bottle for about an hour before drinking. Appearance is clear, medium intensity, purple colour. Legs. Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with aromas of meaty animal/game, smoky gunpowder, and dark earth. Developed. On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium alcohol, smooth supple medium tannins, medium body. No animals running around on the palate though. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of red cherry, ripe strawberry, slight raspberry, and granite slate minerality. Medium+ finish. Very good quality. There was something very clearly Rhonish about this, and I was guessing between a Saint Joseph Syrah or a Southern Rhone Grenache-Mouvedre blend. Drinking nicely now. This could still go for another 4-5 years but unlikely to develop much more.

On the palate, dry, high acidity, high alcohol (20%! that actually feels like 15% only), full body. Pronounced flavour intensity, with flavours of nutty caramel, toffee, almonds, salty minerality, and some bitter medicinal herbs. Long finish. Very good quality. Quite intense on its own, this needs to be drunk in moderation or paired with food.

Nose was strangely only of medium intensity, with aromas of sweet dried black tea leaves and Chinese herbs. Developed. On the palate, sweet, balanced high acidity, high alcohol (17%), full body. Pronounced flavour intensity, with flavours of dried apricots, raisins, sweet tea leaves, and diluted Chinese herbal syrup Nin Jiom Pei Pa Kao. Long finish. Outstanding quality PX. Aged and complex.

Simple sweet orange juice dessert wine.
