The usual blend of 70% Pinot Meunier and 30% Pinot Noir from the Vallée de la Marne, fermented in old oak, malo completed, bâtonnage every 10/12 days, unfined, base vintage 2008. Rich but not ruddy colour; aromatic nose with ripe fruit, flowers and Pinot Meunier spice; rich but energetic on the palate, mouthfilling but more mineral and fresher than I remember from previous renditions of this wine, lovely balance; very good flavours and length. Impeccably made.
A very interesting take on the Aligote theme, crisp and lemony, mineral, touch of sereh, but this time combined with a not inconsiderable dose of (not too toasty) oak that is carried well by the weight of juicy and zesty ripe fruit, lovely definition; good intensity and length, herbs and citrus zest. Very nice.
A blend of Pinot Noir and St. Laurent from the Böchinger Rosenkranz and the Nussdorfer Herrenberg, 12.4% ABV. Wonderfully clean and refreshing style, aromatic, fragrant even, in which both grape varieties have their own, well-defined place and rôle; flowers and spices, sour cherries, macerated strawberries, cool and mineral, energetic, just a bit tight but the tannins are not astringent and there is added warmth from the otherwise barely noticeable oak, lovely flavours, good length. Delicious.
A very interesting and refreshing style of wine, apples, strudel, nuts and spicy volcanic soil, ripe lemon, good weight of juicy fruit but also slightly austere bitters, energetic, good length. Went very well with the cheese.
