After a while, raw cocoa bitters emerge which indicate that there are serious acrolein issues in this wine, but the effect is very variable over time in the decanter. At other times, the wine is just its autumnal self, with notes of leather and tobacco. Not rated.

Very forward, ripe cherries, warm spices, good Sangiovese typicity, distinctly lactic, easy and silky but with pleasant tannic grip, light and refreshing, attractive but a far cry from the grandeur of a truly noble Vino Nobile.
From magnum, 6.3% ABV. Delicately sweet, volatile nose, green apples and macerated strawberry and raspberries, pale orange colour, soft mousse, yeasty, primary, juicy and easy, hint of lemonade. Delicious in an uncomplicated way.
