Was at an off-site tasting, but was able to catch some of the wines tonight.

Favorite was the L'arlot NSG followed by the Hillaire CdP and Albino Rocca Gepin.
1999 Oddero Langhe Cabernet Sauvignon Fureste
Italy, Piedmont, Langhe, Langhe DOC
Dark dense core, signs of age, dull garnet rim; prune, some soy, plum; cedar, fresher on palate than nose suggests; good; drink soon.

2012 Albino Rocca Barbera d'Alba Gepin
Italy, Piedmont, Alba, Barbera d'Alba
Dark opaque core with bright purple rim; some reductiveness, dark fruit, plum, chocolate, black olives, almost black pepper, mineral; good richness but great lift, bright plum, sweet tart fruit, persistent, dark cherry on finish; a much more noble Barbera than I am use to; should get another bottle or two and the mag.

2009 Ciacci Piccolomini d'Aragona Brunello di Montalcino

Crimson core, see through with orange in rim; orange, plum, strawberry, a little funky and disjointed nose; softer palate, subtle power, Italian, bright red fruit, cedar, rose, dried cherry and strawberry, licorice; really needs more time to come together, the 2007 (Pianrosso) was awkward like this for a few years before achieving harmony.

Lighter extraction plum with lighter rim; fig paste, bright floral purple fruit, marzipan, light tart raspberry; solid, young, tart raspberry, bitter finish, classic; very good young CdP.

Deep crimson rim with rusty rim; dried roses, light red fruit, cherry, strawberry, orange oil, cedar; medicinal, cherry, rose, pure red, integrated orange oil, softer tannin; good; ripeness much more in check than 2009.

See through dull ruby, pale rim; fragrant, sexy nose, bright purple, tart sour cherry, slight reductive, white rock; good sap on palate, nice harder texture, white rocky mineral, sour cherry; tasty but probably better in a few years.

Dull garnet, some clarity, paler rim; fainter nose, musky red cherry and raspberry, very tart, garrigue; old school, tart raspberry, black pepper, garrigue, medicinal, floral; I like the palate more than the nose.
