Introduction
A wonderful reception at the winery. A small and growing family winery that makes delicious well priced wines. The second generation is now completely involved in the winemaking. Martina runs the marketing and is a winemaker in her own right. Matteo was representing the winery at the recent Suckling tasting in NYC, showing impressive 2010 Baroli, with new favorites such as Bricco Luciani and La Serra.
2012 Mauro Molino Arneis
Italy, Piedmont, Alba, Roero
Nutty, aromatic, not oily; crisp mouthfeel, aromas of white peach. Steel tanks only. One of the better whites I've tasted in Piedmont.

Mineral wine, not creamy or oaky. Simple, clean, easy drinking.

2010 Mauro Molino Barbera d'Alba Vigna Gattere

Single vineyard Barbera, 8m in used bariques. Layers upon layers of aromatics; backed cherry pie. Smooth, with the wood addiing an extra dimension of nutty complexity. No tannins. Good.

2012 Mauro Molino Langhe Nebbiolo

Juicy, silky and aromatic. Botti aged 6-7m. Not profound, but captures the energy of the vintage.

2009 Mauro Molino Barolo Vigna Gancia

Delicious now; roses, cloves, dark cherry. Touch of menthol. The wine is linear. Calcareous and sandy soil.

2009 Mauro Molino Barolo Vigna Conca
Italy, Piedmont, Langhe, Barolo
Chewy, concentrated wine, with feral and flowery aromatics. Baked cake aroma. Calcareous clay soil, a tiny corner property with just the right exposure, elevation and soil, the pride of the estate. Very good.
