Lots of ripe apple aroma and flavor with some yeasty, toasted brioche throughout. Slightly nutty background notes. Very good power everywhere, and the ripe fruit is nicely balanced with sneaky amount of acidity that comes through nicely on finish.

This had been opened several hours earlier, but I think would have benefited from even more air. Alluring spice-driven aromatic start with floral hints and lots of red fruit. More backward flavors, almost brooding. Red and black cherry with dense concentration. Needs more time.

I think this is the 1st time I've had this wine. Lush and very ripe black berry and cherry with lots of Asian five spice that I would have easily thought from Vosne. More modern styled than the older vintages tonight (1993, 1998, 1999) but with the concentration and density to be exciting and truly cellar worthy.
