Smoky, floral perfume, peach, chalk and lemon - the aromas expand over time in the glass, with the ripeness showing but never feeling out of place. The palate shows great purity and style, the acidity gives it vibrancy and verve. Has grip and structure, but it is already a beautiful, beautiful wine.

Apricot, violets, smoke and light salted caramel at first, with the aromas becoming more pronounced over time in the glass, before showing a truffled character after 45 minutes that appealed greatly to me. I came back to this after a number of other wines and it showed slightly more tropical and definitely more floral. Fans out across the palate, this is a wine that lives up to its reputation for power and depth. Even with the intensity, it maintains a feeling of grace and the texture helps a great deal in keeping it poised.
I took a small splash home in a glass with me to have for breakfast the next morning and it had barely moved from the position it was in the night before, it was still expressive and explosive. A stunning wine.
Black cherry, earthy truffles, graphite, floral fields and tar with iron. Balance is excellent (as long as you don't mind some typical Nebbiolo tannic kick), with great length, composure and texture to the palate. Still has good structure from those aforementioned tannins, though it is so lovely now that I don't think extended ageing will benefit it greatly. That said, I checked a small amount from the bottle on opening at 4pm and the wine was showing much the same when we got to try it fully at 8:30pm so I don't think there is danger of it falling over soon.
Chocolate, raspberry, dusty earth, a tinge of herbal/undergrowth character, musk and smallgoods - very complex and very enticing nose. The palate shows off seriously good texture, with structure that shows it can go for the long haul (15+ years) while also having fantastic balance and dimension right now. Incredible wine.

The tannins and oak are still bold, but the fruit is up to the task and there is a vibrancy about it that gives the wine freshness. Has time to develop further, but this is excellent right now as well.

Served blind. Cherry, raspberry, redcurrant and light stalks/herbal character - it comes off as pretty but with a serious side. Poised with super fine tannins and a lovely purity of fruit. Drinking well already but will certainly improve.
