Introduction
Really fun tasting with David Tate winemaker with Barnett Vineyards. Held at North Loop in Minneapolis. All the wines showed well except the Pinot which was not up to par at all IMO.
2013 Barnett Vineyards Chardonnay Sangiacomo Vineyard 92 Points
USA, California, Napa / Sonoma, Carneros
Nose: Pear and toast in perfect balance. Nice minerality too. Palate: Nice pear and bright, up front acidity. Great mouthfeel. Super clean finish that lingers for 30 seconds with the toast and fruit in perfect harmony. Good value at $32 on sale.

2013 Barnett Vineyards Pinot Noir Tina Marie Vineyard 87 Points

Nose: An odd almost artificial cherry aroma present. Palate: Good richness but the taste is off putting. Not very good with an almost cooked quality. Not a flawed bottle just a not very good effort.

2012 Barnett Vineyards Merlot Spring Mountain District 91 Points

Nose: Great blackberry aromas with some subtle vanilla notes and minerals. Palate: Really rich mouthfeel with very deep blackberry flavors and very soft (almost too soft) tannins. Very nice but would score higher with more tannins and acid.

2012 Barnett Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon Spring Mountain District 92 Points

Nose: Almost candied plums with mulberries, cassis and violets. Wow a what nose! Palate: Very soft and approachable with soft, dark fruits with black licorice and spice. Finish and mouth coating aspects go on for about 30 seconds. Great stuff.

2012 Barnett Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon Rattlesnake 91 Points

Nose: Similar nose to the Spring Mountain but with more depth and spice. Palate: Like the nose similar to the other bottling but actually less richness on mid palate.
