Deep, blood ruby, bricking. Very rich and deep nose, earthy and appealing; dusty cherry, rose, and pomegranate; again, very appealing! The palate is more '88 than anything else -- stern, conservative, tannic; tense cherry. Then, with food, a little more sweetness and cheer shows up. Good length. This is definitely a food wine; quite firmly tannic, but also very enjoyable. (My wine)
Deep blood, well bricked. The nose is very dusty, leather, and some rosy cherry; petrichor; and a nice, herbal minty line drawn smartly through it. The palate is rather dusty, tannic, and fruit-free -- but then food arrived... It transformed immediately into a soft, sweet beauty, with cheerful, fresh, rose and cherry fruit. Wonderful! Definitely it is a little oxidized, but then it should be. Good, not great, apple-skin finish. Nice wine! (Thanks, Josh!)
