(10 wine friends: Roni & David, Gabriel & David, Lihi, Hanan, Avihu, Nissim, Yair & myself)

  • 1982 Château Branaire (Duluc-Ducru) 92 Points

    France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Saint-Julien

    Saturated cork from end to end.
    transparent light brown, bright and shining
    great barn-leather earthy aroma, with some spice-herbal note
    med bodied, soft integrated tannins, light fruitiness, beautifully balanced and harmonious with flavours of black current, sour cherry with hints of chocolate and vanilla.
    Great wonderful wine, the only weak point being I felt it dropped off a little in the finish.
    still quite enjoyable.

  • 1989 Château Duhart-Milon 91 Points

    France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Pauillac

    Decanted briefly for sediment and returned to the bottle.
    transparent red-brown.
    nose of dried fruit, potpourri and subtle spice notes.
    med bodied, soft tannins, light fruity flavours and notes of spices
    somewhat less than expectations, yet quite enjoyable.

    double decanting for sediments removal
    dark shining red colour
    great solid ripe fruity-earthy aromas with leather and barn notes
    full bodied, integrated tannins, high acidity level, light spicy flavours, well balanced and harmonised,
    good complexity, long quality finish

  • 1995 Château Troplong Mondot 90 Points

    France, Bordeaux, Libournais, Saint-Émilion Grand Cru

    double decanting for sediments removal
    very dark red-purple
    ripe plummy-fruity aroma with chocolate notes
    full bodied, firm tannins, good acidity level, rustic fruity-earthy flavours, good balance, lacks complexity and depth on the palate, still very enjoyable as wine that will pair with main meaty or pasta dish; medium finish.
