  • NV Graham Porto Six Grapes Reserve 87 Points

    Portugal, Douro, Porto

    Appearance: The wine is Clear with a Deep ruby colour.
    Nose: The nose is Clean and Youthful, showing Medium(+) intensity primary aromas of blackberry, black cherry, damson, liquorice.
    Palate: The wine is Sweet in the mouth with a Medium(+) level of acidity. It has Medium(+) Ripe/Soft tannins and a High Level of alcohol (20.00%). It has Medium(+) body and Medium(+) intensity primary flavours of blackberry, black cherry, damson, liquorice. The finish is Medium(+). Blend of 3 year old wines. Allegedly desclassified vintage port. Matured in big wood vats so no real oak character
    Overall: Good intensity and length. Well integrated tannins an alcohol. Good balance between structural components.
    Conclusion: It is a Very Good quality wine. Drink Now; not suitable for Ageing or Further Ageing Not intended for further ageing.; High priced (£12.50)

  • 2009 Graham Porto Late Bottled Vintage 88 Points

    Portugal, Douro, Porto

    Appearance: The wine is Clear with a Deep ruby colour.
    Nose: The nose is Clean and Youthful, showing Medium(+) intensity primary aromas of blackcurrant, blackberry, black plum, damson, sweet spice.
    Palate: The wine is Sweet in the mouth with a Medium(+) level of acidity. It has Medium(+) Ripe/Soft tannins and a High Level of alcohol (20.00%). It has Full body and Medium intensity primary flavours of blackcurrant, blackberry, black plum, damson, sweet spice. The finish is Medium(+).
    Overall: Good intensity and length.
    Conclusion: It is a Very Good quality wine. Can Drink Now but has Potential for Ageing ; High priced (£13.50)

  • 2001 Graham Porto Vintage Quinta dos Malvedos 89 Points

    Portugal, Douro, Porto

    Appearance: The wine is Clear with a Deep ruby colour.
    Nose: The nose is Clean and Developing, showing Medium intensity primary aromas of blackcurrant, blackberry, damson, sweet spice, liquorice, medicinal.
    Palate: The wine is Sweet in the mouth with a Medium(+) level of acidity. It has High Ripe/Soft tannins and a High Level of alcohol (20.00%). It has Full body and Pronounced intensity primary flavours of blackcurrant, blackberry, damson, sweet spice, liquorice, medicinal. The finish is Long. It was quite soft and open.
    Overall: Long, intense and quite complex
    Conclusion: It is a Very Good quality wine. Can Drink Now but has Potential for Ageing Will continue to mature with further ageing.; Premium priced (£27.00)

    Appearance: The wine is Clear with a Deep ruby colour.
    Nose: The nose is Clean and Developing, showing Medium(+) intensity primary aromas of blackcurrant, blackberry, damson, liquorice, raisin, prune.
    Palate: The wine is Sweet in the mouth with a Medium(+) level of acidity. It has High Ripe/Soft tannins and a High Level of alcohol (20.00%). It has Full body and Medium(+) intensity primary flavours of blackcurrant, blackberry, damson, raisin, prune, liquorice. The finish is Medium(+). It was a bit closed and quite muscular. Alcohol a bit hot.
    Overall: Quite long, intense and some complexity
    Conclusion: It is a Very Good quality wine. Can Drink Now but has Potential for Ageing; Premium priced (£27.50)

    Appearance: The wine is Clear with a Deep ruby colour.
    Nose: The nose is Clean and Developing, showing Pronounced intensity primary aromas of blackcurrant, blackberry, damson, liquorice and tertiary aromas of prune, tar.
    Palate: The wine is Sweet in the mouth with a Medium(+) level of acidity. It has High Ripe/Soft tannins and a High Level of alcohol (20.00%). It has Full body and Pronounced intensity primary flavours of blackcurrant, blackberry, damson, liquorice and tertiary flavours of prune, tar. The finish is Long. It has quite bit of tertiary character.
    Overall: Quite long, intense and some complexity
    Conclusion: It is a Very Good quality wine. Can Drink Now but has Potential for Ageing ; Premium priced (£30.00)

    Nose: The nose is Clean and Fully Developed, showing Medium(+) intensity aromas of raisin, orange peel, fig, prune, sweet spice, cinnamon, nutty, honey.
    Palate: The wine is Medium Sweet in the mouth with a Medium level of acidity. It has Medium(-) Ripe/Soft tannins and a High Level of alcohol (20.00%). It has Medium body and Medium(+) intensity flavours of raisin, orange peel, fig, prune, sweet spice, cinnamon, nutty, honey. The finish is Long.
    Overall: Good length, intensity and complexity. Good typicity
    Conclusion: It is a Very Good quality wine. Drink Now; not suitable for Ageing or Further Ageing; Premium priced (£20.00)

    Appearance: The wine is Clear with a Pale tawny colour.
    Nose: The nose is Clean and Fully Developed, showing Medium(+) intensity aromas of raisin, orange peel, preserved fruits, fig, prune, sweet spice, cinnamon, nutty, honey, leather.
    Palate: The wine is Medium Sweet in the mouth with a Medium level of acidity. It has Medium(-) Ripe/Soft tannins and a High Level of alcohol (20.00%). It has Medium body and Medium(+) intensity flavours of raisin, orange peel, preserved fruits, fig, prune, sweet spice, cinnamon, nutty, honey, leather. The finish is Long. Christmas pudding in a glass. Lots of candied fruits and nuts.
    Overall: Good length, intensity and complexity. Good typicity. Step up from the 10 year old.
    Conclusion: It is an Outstanding quality wine. Drink Now; not suitable for Ageing or Further Ageing; Premium priced (£36.00)

    Nose: The nose is Clean and Fully Developed, showing Medium(+) intensity primary aromas of blackcurrant, blackberry, black cherry, damson, damson and tertiary aromas of toffee, coffee, caramel, walnut, hazelnut , dates, prune, fig.
    Palate: The wine is Sweet in the mouth with a Medium level of acidity. It has Medium(-) Ripe/Soft tannins and a High Level of alcohol (21.00%). It has Medium body and Medium(+) intensity primary flavours of blackcurrant, blackberry, black cherry, damson, damson and tertiary flavours of coffee, toffee, caramel, hazelnut , walnut, dates, fig, prune. The finish is Long.
    Overall: Long, intense and complex
    Conclusion: It is an Outstanding quality wine. Can Drink Now but has Potential for Ageing; Super-Premium priced (£80.00)
