Honeysuckle and orange blossom on the nose with some other sweet orange notes. Good acidity on the palate followed by some citrus pith. Some pepper/heat on the finish that lingers. Seems like a pretty good fruity Viognier. 14%ABV and PH 3.23.
This was a blend of grenache, syrah and cab. sauv at 13% ABV and PH 3.5. I was told this was heavily fined and filtered. Raspberries, strawberries and spcie on the nose. More body on the palate with lots more candied raspberry/strawberry. Fair amount of structure on the finish. This was fruited like an RRV pinot and I probably would have guessed Pinot if I had tasted this blind. Mild pepper on the finish as well, which leans chalky. Higher perceived acidity than the Viognier imo.

Spiced raspberry/strawberry on the palate with a good amount of earth. A lot of white pepper on the palate and some serious structure on the finish, which is very chalky and grainy. 13.6 % ABV and PH 3.5.
Much darker and more brooding on the nose than the previous pinot with black currants and blackberries, but definitely still pinot with a bit of funk. Much brighter, high toned acidity with red fruits on the palate. Soft finish.
Very red fruited Syrah with cherries and peppercorn with some liqueur notes in the background. Reminded me a tiny bit of the Qupe Sawyer Lindquist Syrah in its texture, but I would have guessed this fell on the Pinot side of the Pinot/Syrah divide that wine toys with. Great acidity with a very soft tannic finish. 13.8% ABV and PH 3.46.
This seemed more in the direction of a Loire Cab Franc than a Bordeaux style wine even though it is 42% Merlot, 42% Cab Franc and 16% Cab Sauv. There is a nice vegetal spicy green pepper character to the nose, with some smoke and tar in the background. Good acidity and very fresh. Lots of tannin on the finish with a swish. 13.4% ABV and PH 3.74.

2012 Casa Barranca Pinot Noir La Encantada Vineyard Sta. Rita Hills
