Steely yet soft, lemon, hints of toast and sea breeze, crisp but harmonious acidity, tightly wound but accessible, very pure and typical, good length. A distinctive wine for drinking now.

2011 Clau De Nell Grolleau 91 Points

Touch of barnyard on the nose blows off to reveal a wine of exceptional elegance for Grolleau, with lovely pure and sweet cherry fruit, violets and field flowers, medium weight (12.5% ABV), delicious granitic freshness, subtle phenolic grip, hints of green apple and of oak; very slightly estery finish, good length. According to the sommelier there is a lot of bottle variation, but this one is quite stunning.
