Merlot based, with Cabernet-Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. Much deeper colour rhan the Merlot 2011, richer and weightier too, ripe but fresh cherry fruit but still with an earthy and cool profile, quite mineral and dry on the finish, good length.
This too is a blend of Merlot, Cabernet-Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, percentages kept secret. More finesse and depth than the POV 2010, quite earthy too, finely layered, good fruit, lovely subtlety and complexity, finely grained tannins. The closest thing to right-bank claret I have tasted in Napa Valley so far.
Skin fermented Pinot Gris. Golden coppery colour, butter and herbs, flowers, clean and soft, civilised, attractive, rounded off by ripe fruit. Unobtrusive but quite expensive for $ 45.
