    100% Sangiovese; same color as regular Montevertine; more structure evident on nose, powerful, tobacco, dried red fruit, orange oil; structured palate, not different from good Brunello; very good.

    90% Sangio, 5% Colorino, 5% Canaiolo; told 2012 was a difficult vintage; bright see through ruby; more cedar, subtler nose, volcanic; fresh, strong structure, a little less fruit than the 2013 Pian del Ciampolo; tasty.

    Dull crimson showing some clarity, lighter rim; strong licorice, rose, dried pure red cherry, beautiful nose, some leather; solid palate, coats all corners of your mouth, good mid, dried cherry and strawberry, orange oil, leather, great balance; delicious; one of the more accessible 2010's tasted.

    Bright garnet core to rim; grainy, bright reddish purple fruit, violets, red and black currant, strong green pepper undertones, pencil shavings; soft caressing tannin, deep fruit, great texture; delicious.

Closing

Was more than happy to miss the chaotic first day of VinItaly which was open to the public. The drive was less scenic and the walk coming back was crazy but it was still very much worth it.
Venison, pizza, risotto, cured meat, cheese, apple fritters, all local and delicious.
