The 99 and 96 were not in great shape, showing distinct signs of oxidation. Interestingly these wines were "provided" by Bruno Borie and were not from the TWS cellars (as the others were), as (without commenting directly on their condition) Sebastian Payne made sure to make clear.
2010 Château Fourcas-Borie
France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Listrac-Médoc
Attractive, fragrant, ripe fruit - touch of vanilla and cream. Only moderately intense, tannins ifrm and a touch sandy on the medium length finish. Better with food. **

2010 Château Ducru-Beaucaillou Croix de Beaucaillou

Attractive cedary black fruits, aromatic. Medium bodied, balanced, fine tannins. good length finish with attractive fresh acidity. ***

2009 Château Ducru-Beaucaillou Croix de Beaucaillou

Initially quite closed on the nose, slowly opening to show red cherry, kirsch and cream. Layered and generous on the palate, medium/full, soft tannins, mouth-coating but with offsetting freshness, expands impressively on the finish. ***

2006 Château Ducru-Beaucaillou Croix de Beaucaillou

Savoury edge on nose, touch of undergrowth. Quite complex/harmonious. Touch of tobacco. Medium bodied, cedary black fruit, fresh acids, falls away a touch on the finish. **1/2

2009 Château Ducru-Beaucaillou

Rich, ripe, voluptuous nose. Quite red fruited, plenty of creamy vanilla, but the fruit still shines through. Full bodied on the palate, soft, layered tannins, reasonable balancing acidity, finishes long. Not really my style, but can't deny the quality. ****

2007 Château Ducru-Beaucaillou

Light/moderate intensity, cedar, blackcurrant, earth, touch of tobacco. Quite evolved. Medium bodied, attractive freshness, not lean exactly but very drinkable. some dilution on the mid-palate' good length cedary finish. ***

2006 Château Ducru-Beaucaillou

Deep ruby, medium pale rim. Attractive pure fruit, cedary, aromatic. Harmonious on the palate, slightly firm still on the finish, but excellent. ****

2004 Château Ducru-Beaucaillou

More evolved than the 2006, broader, richer nose with less purity of fruit. Some earth and even undergrowth. Medium/full bodied, broader and less focussed than the 06, black fruited, falls away a touch on the finish. ***

2003 Château Ducru-Beaucaillou

Slightly baked red fruits, but overall in balance with impressively fine tannins and some nice spicy complexity. Very good in the context of the vintage ***1/2.

I don't think this bottle was in great shape, the fruit was very tired and figgy, a touch of cedar but similarly tired and flat on the palate. NR

Again this wasn't a great bottle. It had slightly more life than the 99, with some red fruit on the nose, but was also showing some signs of oxidation. NR
